Štěpánka Pivcová
Štepánka Pivcová currently works as a ladies collection designer for the streetwear company, ragwear. Since 2006 she and a team of designers and graphic artists have co-created season collections that are regularly presented at the Bread&Butter trade fair in Barcelona and Bright in Frankfurt. She works in an international environment with a team of designers from Germany, France and Hong Kong. Together, they form a team that prepares a collection of 300 pieces for the European market twice a year. She works on the preparation of catalogues for the various collections with photographers Marek Novotný, Salim Issa and Kristina Hrabětová. She enjoys the most the initial phase of designing each collection when the theme, colours, styles, and direction for each new collection are chosen.
She finds inspiration in her travels of Europe as well as in the fashion of Hong Kong and Tokyo, which is very different and interesting for a European.
It was travelling and various views of fashion design that brought her the idea of a collection inspired by street art and travelling. She devised the Dark Star planet where everything is just beginning and there are no rules – much less any dressing rules. All there is is freedom. Free space and thinking. Streets of Dark Star is her first original collection after a long time of her work exclusively for clothing companies and in line with their philosophy.
